Aspect Enterprise Solutions, having established themselves in the last couple of years as the leader in SaaS delivered CTRM solutions for oil trading, announced last week that they have signed their first customer in the Ags/Softs space. According to their press release, the company signed-up Switzerland-based Soyuz Commodities SA for their AspectCTRM solution. As noted in that release, Soyuz trades principally in grains and oil seeds and operates in the Black Sea region and the Russian Far East, and will be relying on the Aspect solution to help them in managing rail activity.
Again, Aspect has had great success in delivering cloud-based solutions for the mid and lower-tiers of the oil markets and they recently been making significant investments in building out additional physical logistics functionality. This win and a successful implementation would seem to position them well in the ag and edible oils space, particularly in those geographic areas that rely heavily on rail-based transportation.
