Agtech is one of ION Commodities’ solutions that probably doesn’t get quite the recognition that some of ION Commodities’ other CTRM software products do – but should. It has well over 200 customers in North America and Australia, and has been active since the 1980’s on the bulk side of the market – largely in grains and oilseeds. These days, the Agtech team is busy reinventing its solution as a multi-tenanted SaaS solution launched in early 2025 and I was treated to a preview of this slick new platform, as one of the first people to see it, and also given an update from Agtech’s Michael Zajicek, VP of Agtech Product. Michael explained that the Agtech team had faced a “refresh” or “rebuild” decision as its prior version of the product began to age in terms of technology, and it had decided to rebuild from the ground up on all new technology to provide a SaaS solution – web-based, with real-time capabilities and API’s to easily flow data through the solution.
