Today, I was looking up an old colleague in order to make a connection to him for a client only to discover with some considerable shock that Mr. Jon Arnold, latterly worldwide director of Utilities for Microsoft, had sadly passed away on May 14th, 2015. I first met Jon many years ago when he was at McGraw-Hill and started the EnergyIT magazine. That magazine filled a neat hole at the time in the periodical landscape. I struck up an easy working relationship with him and found him to always be helpful, knowledgable and an all around class act. I hadn’t seen him in many years, but I was impressed by his tenure at Microsoft and what he had achieved there. Very sad news indeed. RIP Jon. Here is a link to the Microsoft Blog tribute to Jon.
