I recently spoke to Ed Pieters at Cadran Consultancy. Cadran is a consultancy that specializes in the Oracle JD Edwards ERP solution and that has developed a CTRM add on for JD Edwards. The company has gained some traction in recent months with a deal with Interfood that purchased both JD Edwards and the Commodity Trading solution for its diary operations (cheese, raw milk, skimmed milk powder and other products) globally. It also is engaged in a roll out of the product for Sucden in Vietnam and recently completed the implementation for Ragasa Industries in Mexico for soybeans. “We offer a fully integrated solution that is attractive to both companies that have a separate set of commodity risk solutions and JD Edwards ERP and companies who look for an integrated ERP and CTRM solution,” he told me. “It’s a real-time solution by virtue of that integration and the Business Intelligence part is also tightly connected to provide direct information from the system.” Cadran also has an intriguing approach to selling the solution having set up a joint venture called Redfaire International. “A lot of our customers have international operations,” he told us. “The JV provides an ability to sell and
