Houston, TX and Prague, Czech Republic (PRWEB) June 09, 2014
Commodity Technology Advisory (ComTech), the leading analyst firm for energy and commodity trading and risk management (E/CTRM) technologies, has released its 2014 CTRM Vendor Perception Report. The report may be downloaded at the ComTech Advisory website (https://www.comtechadvisory.com) or at the CTRM Center (http://www.ctrmcenter.com). The report is being made available free of charge thanks to the support of research sponsors and report advertisers.
The ComTech Advisory Vendor Perception study measures end user and consultant’s perceptions about CTRM vendors including brand awareness and market leadership across a number of commodity categories and capabilities. The research also gathered information about the installed base of the market, and key data on buying habits and criteria among end-users of the software.
“The Vendor Perception Study provides tremendous insights into how the CTRM marketplace sees the vendors,” reports Dr. Gary M. Vasey, Managing Partner at ComTech Advisory. ”Brand perceptions are very important and vendors spend significant sums creating brands while the buyers also spend significant sums testing those brand by buying the software.”
“This years’ study had the largest response rate of any survey we have ever done and we thank everyone who participated for their valuable feedback,” said Patrick Reames, Managing Partner, ComTech Advisory. “The results show, and are consistent with past research, that four vendors continue to dominate the market’s awareness of ETRM/CTRM: OpenLink, Allegro, SunGard and Triple Point. However, we are seeing emerging challengers to those top four, particularly from companies such as Brady PLC, EKA and a number of other regionally important or more narrowly focused vendors. Market leadership perceptions reinforce this, as in almost every category tested, one of these 6 vendors is perceived as the market leader.”
The 2014 CTRM Vendor Perception study was supported by platinum sponsors, Allegro Development and OpenLink and by gold sponsor, JustCommodity. After completion of the research effort, ComTech spoke with senior executives of both platinum sponsoring companies to get their thoughts as to the results of the survey. Mr. Ray Hood, president and CEO of Allegro shares his views of the results of the study at http://youtu.be/FYmGqoMJk7k and Mr. Doug Wendler, MD of Americas Energy for Openlink provides his thoughts at http://youtu.be/oFtUaY2yd_4.
