It seems that times are good in the world of E/CTRM and most, if not, all vendors are reporting that they are very busy fielding inquiries. This was certainly true for Phlo Systems when I spoke with them earlier this week. According to Head of Sales, Mark Ferguson, Phlo is currently experiencing a lot of interest driven by the EUDR de-forestation regulations and the need for traceability. Of course, we have been talking about traceability on CTRMCenter.com for a few years but it seems that many commodity firms are now facing the need to track and trace commodities in earnest by end of the year. What Mark likes about this is that even large commodity entities are reaching out to Phlo Systems around this issue and, as he says, “it is helping us become known and valued in tiers of the market that may not previously have known that much about us.” The inset of regulations both in the EU and other jurisdictions that require track and trace of commodities is creating the demand.
