SAP’s VP for Agribusiness and management/” title=”View all articles about Commodity Management here”>Commodity Management, Ms. Anja Strothkaemper, spoke with me last week to give us an update on SAP’s activities since the last time we met at its SAP management/” title=”View all articles about Commodity Management here”>Commodity Management Forum last year. Apparently, SAP’s Q4 was pretty strong with a sizeable number of new deals closed across the entire gamut of Ags & Softs, Metals and Energy including a number of household names. Several of these deals were replacements of competitive products as opposed to greenfield sites we learned. SAP also continues to add functionality to the SAP Commodity Management solution and also for the SAP Agricultural Contract Management (SAP ACM) application. The products now cover quite a lot of the value chain from agricultural production through trading and origination, processing, supply chain management to sales and service (see the SAP Agribusiness value map here). SAP has also drawn closely on two partners for the diary and meat areas and also in farm management. As Ms. Strothkaemper told us, SAP’s strategy is to supply solutions from ‘farm to fork’.
